Rebranding a chinese martial arts school
Branding & Identity

The Wushu Taichi Akademie is a traditional, family-run martial arts school in Konstanz [GER]. With a long history tracing back to roughly 1910 in Guangzhou [CHN], it was one of the first Chinese martial arts schools in Germany.
Chinese martial arts is not about mythical dragons, Kung-Fu-Flicks and fearsome Qi. We believe there is a much more truthful, delicate and focused approach to rebranding a martial arts school. The visual identity has been completely redesigned. From print products to advertising campaigns to digital presence, a whole new brand identity has been developed.
We put the Action center stage, using expressive Low-key pictures and discarding the over-the-top visual effects.
Accompanied by simple design Elements, which are inspired by vintage chinese elements, the new visual Identity marks the start of a new Era for this family-tradition and the martial arts community.
The minimalist yet expressive design brings chinese martial arts to a much broader audience. It also opens up the opportunity to preserve this tradition and translate the cultural heritage into the modern world.
