Animated stage-sets for the young theater of Constance

The director wanted animated stick figures, we wanted to scribble like in grade school. The results were animated stage sets for the premiere of “Shoot the Orange” by the Junges Theater Konstanz.

The story is written by Mikael Niemi and is about a pessimistic high-school student who finds escape from reality by writing poems. Even though he just got dumped by the girl he liked and his best friend is being bullied by everyone, he learns to see the good side of life through his poems.

As this stage play is mainly tailored for a young audience and the story mainly takes place in a school, we illustrated and animated a whole lot of scribbles that resemble the chaotic life in high-school.
